Art and poetry

I like art and poetry.

My favourite artist is Edward Hopper.
I do rather like Impressionism in particular,
though I am aware Edward is not of this school.
Realism I think? Anyway, he is good.

I particulary like this picture. I think so
many things can be read into this picture.
An elegant young woman, waiting. No one
knows for whom. I just like it. Very much.
Like all his works.

I particulary like 20th century poetry, or
contemporary poetry. Among others, Billy
Collins. Easy to read and clever. And yet
another American, like Edward.

New York photograph blog

I read a blog called New York Daily Photo. It really is very good.
But apart from the pictures it also very well written. The author
must be about my age, which of course has nothing to do with it...

Hopefully I have been able to add my own contribution. I am not too good
on technology. But this picture, on a bus stop, has a particular connection
with someone I know. It reminds me of her. The woman at the side was not
intended to be in it. This is perhaps obvious, given the look on her face.
I hope, in the unlikely event that she reads my blog, that she considers it
to be a compliment. To be elevated to the dizzy heights of fame, found only
in blog of an obscure, (overstated..?) Australian.

Time I said something

I keep forgetting about this blog.
I tell myself that I have enough
to say, so I really should write
it in a blog, boring as it may be...

Instead I write to people I know.
But they seem to like it, and our
correspondence is good.

I found another blog called
Engineroom. Oddly enough, about
words. That was good. Much
better than being about motor sport,
for instance.

I have just returned from holidays.
It was very, very good, for a number
of reasons. Most enjoyable.

I even have a list of things to write
in my blog. I really must make some
progress.
